dyah says, she is not a designer. ideally she would have become an internationally known karaoke singer. instead, she now finds herself in the heart of yogyakarta’s creative scene. she has a vast network of small workshops in local backyards that handcraft anything from bags, furniture to batik fabrics. her home serves as a shelter for local artists and friends from around the world.
dyah is from salatiga, a small town in the mountains of central java. she moved to yogyakarta to study psychology and now manages sewon art space and has her hands in all kind of trades with local products.
she sells her own furniture – fine selected and refurbished vintage pieces – and assists international customers in finding and creating special products. lately she started the noorside joint-project with an american partner, creating lively individual lamps.
dyah has a great feeling for style, rare pieces and upcoming trends. how she does it and what she should be titled shall not matter, in the end she offers you a stunning design.
